In Kidulthood the producers use such close up shots as the one above on Aml Ameen's (Trife's) face to draw the audiences attention towards him as the main character. In this scene the viewers can tell that Trife is working on something due to the fact that he has protective goggles on and is operating a drill. However the camera is focused on him not the drill as this gives the impression that we do not want to know just yet what he is making as it will surely be revealed further along in the plot.
