In Kidutlhood the producers use such medium shots as the one above to add emphasise and importance to the specific characters of the film. In this sense the camera is focused on Femi Oyeniran (Moony) and behind the actor on the right Adam Deacon (Jay). Due to the camera being focused on them and not the actors walking past at the front of the shot adds a sense of significance towards the main characters. Also due to Moony wearing a branded sleeveless jacket and playing a video game also sets the tone for the set as it shows how the school is probably states funded and is full of troubled teenagers.
